We took a day trip to Ely the first day we were here and spent some time at the cathedral.

The boys joined us for Philip's squadron's Dining Out for 2008. We got all dressed up and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The boys got to experience some military culture and tradition first hand.

The boys & I enjoyed a day in Cambridge. We went on a great tour of the University of Cambridge colleges. This first picture is Josh & I in front of the Cam river. Below I am standing outside of the King's College Chapel. The third Cambridge picture is Josh & I in the courtyard of one of the University colleges.
David, Josh & I enjoyed an oceanside picnic one afternoon
One afternoon we visited Sandringham - the Queen's Country Home (pictured above & below) in Norwich following a picnic at the beach by the ocean.

Josh & I spent a day together in London and saw Les Miserables at the Queen's Theatre. It was a tremendous show! It's amazing to enjoy theatre in the place it all started. . . London.

We took a beautiful train ride up to Scotland to spend a few days. In this picture on the right Philip & I are taking in a beautiful view of the city of Edinburgh from the wall of the Edinburgh Castle.
We spent a day at the Oxburgh Hall Estate. Philip had stumbled upon this site that ispart of the National Trust while exploring on his own while I was in Minnesota. It was a terrific non-touristy spot to spend some time together. If you look closely from the photo below, you can see that there is actually a moat around the residence.

We were very blessed with great with accomodations while in Scotland.
We decided to rent an apartment on the Royal Mile.
We were expecting a one bedroom apartment with
a sofa sleeper, instead we had a beautiful three
bedroom apartment that looked like it came out of an Ikea catalog.
