@ the clinic

Greetings from the GWU Center Clinic.  I'm on front desk duty tonight.  Prettymuch first-year scut work. . . nothing too crazy just kind of boring.  I should be using this time wisely to be doing studying (I have a massive paper looking at the neuropsychology and biology of anorexia that I need to really get cracking on. . .) but I thought I would give a quick hello to everyone in the blogosphere.

The weekend went really well but we were EXHAUSTED aftewards.  On Monday night I seriously felt like it was 1 am by the time the clock struck 9. . .  I was very thankful that I had already done 90% of a big assessment project that I had to turn in today.  Being at the clinic tonight is getting me excited to start doing patient work again. . . (though I am very aware that starting this summer when that will happen, life will become scary chaotic as I will have school + clinic + patients at an affiliate site + traveling to three different supervisors (adult, child/ado, assessment) for 3+ hours of supervision a week. . .)

I'm loving every second and still constantly pinching myself thinking, "I can't believe I really get to do this!!!!"  There is truly no where else I would rather be and nothing else I would rather be doing at this point in my life.  I'm just so so SO excited for the next three weeks to fly by for Philip to arrive.  I absolutely cannot wait until he is here and we can actually let ourselves believe this school thing is working out and just start settling into the "at home" feeling for the first time since last December (!!!!)  Please keep him in your prayers as he's crazy busy and there's still an overwhelming amount to do in the next three weeks.  Today he literally lost his last friend. . . Mike Chin moved out of the neighborhood so he LITERALLY is the last man standing in the whole of Beck Row base housing.  I was thankful, however, that he was able to see his parents and have some good reconnect time the last two weeks as Paul & Laura have been working in London for a couple of weeks.  I'm very excited to see them in December (also started getting really excited as tonight i peeked at plane tickets to MN for thanksgiving - frustratingly, we can't actually book anything until Philip gets here and finds out from his new boss if he can have leave for that week.  oh well.  very soon. . .)

ciao!
