Philip got his picture w/ VP Biden back today. Not too shabby. While people in expensive suits in Washington continue to make wreckless decisions (that literally make me sick to my stomach), life continues as usual across the pond.
I had to take a vacation day off of work so that I could go into the doctor for an annual check-up. Lame. Actually, I needed the space from work and people but still - a vacation day?! Our PCM (primary care manager -- the PA or doctor the government assigns to us) just got back from a deployment, so as much as the appointment itself was not at all exciting it was interesting to hear about her last 6 months. She said she is GLAD to be back safe and sound. She spent 6 months in Baghdad. She was working in a tiny "green" zone (supposedly "safe") surrounded by a red zone (definitely NOT safe) with bombs going off all of the time. She said it wasn't a real comfortable situation as they were surrounded by some not great stuff and Iraqis were constantly scoping them out and meandering in and out of the faucility (I think they were treating Iraqis and military alike) which was a little nerve-wracking.
I need to buckle down on my research paper (psychotropic treatment of eating disorders - fascinating topic to me - love READING about it but am dreading / not sure how I will write about it intelligibly for fifteen pages. . . Heaven, please help me (seriously)- I could use an act of God with this one. . .) for the rest of my "vacation" time.
