Journey

I am sitting here at 4:42 am.  I have been up for an hour.  Sleep is not happening for me right now.  Boo.

Amidst the assignment anxiety and uncertainty we are putting one foot in front of the other and prayerfully trying to cast all cares on Him.   Nothing too out of the ordinary has happened in the last week.

On Friday night we had our last potluck with our "Journey" small group as we know it.  These people have been our family since the first weeks we have been in England.  We meet first and third Fridays and then do family potluck on the 4th Friday.  Gidlows will be gone in a couple of weeks *SOB* so we are soaking up our final moments together.  I made a hummus platter for the event.  I had to laugh because we now have part of the group who are absolute Crossfit fantics  and are hardcore on a crazy paelo training diet (if you can't kill it or pick it -- caveman style --- you can't eat it).  These people are mad and didn't have near as much fun at the potluck ;)  It was a great night of connecting and laughter.

*this is what a military house looks like after it has been "packed out" - very minimalist with "stick furniture" borrowed from base along with a couple of tubs of household necessities to tide a family over for a few weeks between their household goods being packed and their actual departure for the next duty station*

On Saturday morning I had praise and worship practice for a few hours.  By the time I walked home I felt awful.  (fluish awful)  I slept from 1 - 6 and then woke up remembering that I had to get to the commissary to buy ingredients for a meal I was making for Sunday to bring to friends who just had a baby.  I ached and desperately wished that Philip was home to go for me and to put petrol in the car.  Alas, I summoned the energy and was out for an hour and returned home just on time to crash.

Feeling much better today.  I enjoyed a yummy lunch of chicken & wild rice (how Minnesota is that?) with Walkers this afternoon and enjoyed doting on tiny little Evan.  I came back home, did some studying, took a nap and then joined Gidlows for the "Biggest Loser".

In a couple of hours, the final week of April shall begin!
