Seeing how I was a bad date over Valentine's Day weekend (I was so engrossed in paper writing - not so much by choice though. . . I'm not that horrible of a wife), Philip and I cashed the Love Day raincheck and had our date on Saturday p.m. We went to an interactive murder mystery comedy at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. It was great.
Sat. was a super day. We slept in together (yay!!!) as I didn't have bible study. We left the house around 11 and headed into the District. From 12-4 I helped out with admissions interviews (helping the scared interviewees get to where they needed to be, answering questions, etc). it was really fun. I had done the same thing on Friday and found it to be a total blast (it's just so nice not being in that position!!!!!). Philip kindled at Starbucks. We went to Chipotle (hey, for us that is a nice dinner out. . .) and then took the shuttle to the Kennedy Center. It was lovely.
We awoke to a rainy day yesterday (Sunday). Philip had to catch a taxi by 7 am to get to the airport on time. He's working in CO until next Sunday. I'm excited for him to hopefully have at least a few hours with his familia! He's processing a lot about depoyments and career possibilies right now, so connecting with his fam. will be a really healthy thing. A day of snowboarding probably wouldn't hurt the soul either. . .
So, I'm flying solo for the week. Wow, it's been awhile. I feel so spoiled that we've been together for four months. School has been very busy lately, but life really has been great [sans work stress and some weighty decisions/lots of waiting for answers for my poor husband :( ] Yesterday I went to church and then made a trip to the commissary. I came home and cleaned a bit, studied, took a quick nap (45 minutes is very short people!), went to small group, came home to study, talked to my parents via telefono and went to bed. It'll be an academically intense week as I finish an assessment midterm coding and scoring a Rorscach protocol, but not an overwhelming week. I am COUNTING THE DAYS until 7 p.m. on Friday night when SPRING BREAK STARTS. Seriously, I am SO excited. To do NOTHING.
philip was notsomuch in a picture-taking mood, can you tell? ha ha ha. i look rather scary there myself. why am i even posting this????

great fun for a belated valentine-agreement on the photo-it was predictable that one eye would almost be closed!
