Getting to our apartment was a bit comical (adventures are always funny AFTER the fact). . . we arrived at the airport and decided we'd take a bus across the city and then a metro that would drop us close to the hotel. (next time we'll just get a taxi straight away. . .) Well, we somehow figured out the bus and metro after some confusion about what tickets to buy and what metro to get on to. We made it across the city and couldn't figure out which way to go to the hotel. We decided that the wise thing would be (since we had bags and are two girls in the dark and had TOURIST (aka TARGET) written all over us was to get a taxi from the square. We knew we were close but knew it would be best for us just to get to the hotel rather than getting lost on side streets.
Well, we were unsuccessful hailing a taxi for about 45 minutes (we were in a well-lit square with plenty of people and knew it'd be best to stay there until we got a taxi from the reliable taxi service in the city). Well, we FINALLY got a taxi. The gentlemen was loading our bags, and I showed him the address we needed to go to. He stopped loading the bags, pointed up the hill and said "100 meters that way." All we could do was laugh. We found the office and met the person who was giving us the keys to our place (which was up a very steep hill - we thought we were going to die with our bags!)
We unloaded and found a great place to eat last night (nice, inexpensive and food I really liked --- it was a quaint, beautiful little cafe). I had some reeeally good onion soup. We shared some really good conversations about faith, theology, being Northwesten alum, and how we were shaped growing up in a Pentacostal church.
Our room is GREAT. When booking I always look for something cheap but something that's going to be nice, clean and most importantly safe. We struck gold with this one. Our room is very "Prague" and has lots of character. We share a verrrry nice bathroom and a kitchen with two other rooms (but I don't think anyone stayed there last night).. Breakfast is included at a restaurant down the road (where we are now)
Today we're going to maybe hit the castle (our apt. is called "Castle Steps" so, naturally we're really close), grab a light lunch, spend the afternoon in the Jewish Quarter and then buy some food at the market to make dinner.

I've been praying for your safety, and was very relieved to hear of your safe arrival. You two are adventurous, for sure. I'm impressed with your travel across the city. Glad to hear your hotel and eating accommodations are to your liking. So you like onion soup??? I will have to refer to you as my dear little British girl (hail a cab "straight away"). Greetings to Destiny as you go exploring together. Keep safe. Sending love, Mum
