Remembering.

Philip's parents spent Memorial Day weekend with us. They are currently hiking their way through Scotland on a trip celebrating their 25th anniversary. My parents marked their 29th year of marriage today. Philip and I are so proud of our parents. The trials they have weathered together in their marriages have been great. Because of their faith in Christ and placing their hopes and expectations in Him, they are where they are today. Philip and I pray that in a couple of decades we find ourself in the same place of love that continues to grow with each day that passes.

On Memorial Day, Paul, Laura, Philip & I went to Cambridge. There is an American cememtary right outside of the city. The University of Cambridge donated the location to honor American soldiers who were based in England in WW2 who gave their lives. It was a very special ceremony. WWII General Doolittle's granddaughter spoke along with Her Magesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire. The ceremony concluded with four F-15Cs from Lakenheath flying the Missing Man Formation.

We sat next to a British woman who had been engaged to an American fighterpilot who had been killed in action. She has attended the ceremony every year since the memorial services at Madingley began.
