Dear Husband,
I really miss you. A lot. Please come home soon. I don't like to think about the fact that next time I see you, the leaves (that are beginning to be buds) will be turning colour and that when we actually settle into what will be our next home together those trees will likely be on the ground. So I won't think about that. I'll think about how proud I am to be a wife of an officer and gentleman of such noble character. Thank you for being brave and selfless enough to volunteer to spend time away from your family for the welfare of so many others (most of whom you will never meet or who will ever know your name to thank you).
Today we made a bit of a morale-boosting attempt at the clinic. I dressed up in my 1940s/50s green swing dancing dress. If we lived 1943, I would have worn this when you took me out dancing the night before you left for war. If we lived in the 1950s, I would wear cute dresses like this every day (which would be quite fun!) while I waited for you to come home from the office. It's 2010, so I went off to work and wore it in my own war zone while you were working hard in yours. When you get home, I'll always be waiting. No matter what the year. My love for you is timeless. (and I'll always be excited to put on a pretty dress no matter what the occasion with you)
Love,
Your Adoring Wife

and what a pretty dress it is! If I were tiny I would ask to borrow it.
And....what a sweet and wonderful letter to your hubby. I'm sure he misses you just as much (well, maybe more now that he's seen your picture in the green dress!)
Lucky Phil to have you!
