Today at 8am on August 25th, 2008 my father turned 50. I think in my mind he'll always be frozen at 35. . . Yesterday we threw a party with family, neighbors and my parents' church family to commemorate this important hallmark in his life. It was SO much fun to see everyone!
The Pankratz family brought their puppies. My dad took a liking to the runt of the litter when they were first born. My brother has always wanted a dog but wasn't allowed to have one. Now in jest my dad is being cruel telling him that with no kids he may need to get a puppy.
For an orientation mixer at Dordt, the freshman played "2 truths and a lie." Josh's lie was that he had a dog named Jack. So last night we decided the caption for the picture on the left could be "Dad and your dog Jack." Don't worry, Josh. Lori won't let him have the
puppy since he wouldn't let you have one.
Since my parents have joined the Grove City Baptist Church they have started running with a pretty wild circle of friends. Lead by Tracey McCoy (see previous post) there is a troop of people who can pull pranks better than a group of mischevious college students. I heard stories this weekend that made my jaw drop. Well, their decorating committee hit our house in the middle of the night last night and this is a tiny taste of what we found this morning:
