Christmas in February

I worked up the motivation to get up this morning, pack some mail for Anthonelli in Afghanistan and something that my father-in-law accidently left here (their Belgian chocolate from our visit to Bruge). When I checked our mail, there was a valentine's card from my grandma (yay!), some boring bank statements, a cd I had ordered and 2 package slips. Unexpectedly, one of the packages was our Christmas gifts from Paul & Laura. I had resigned to the fact that they must have gotten lost somewhere over the ocean, but Laura was right - they got here!

The difficult thing about getting gifts overseas is that people have to write all of the contents on the customs form (which can definitely take the surprise out of it). Laura cleverly had the slip put on the bottom of the package and I resisted the urge to peek. I got home and tore them open (mine, not Philip's - though I'm tempted to eat his girl scout thin mints before he gets home and he'd never be the wiser - but I'm not that horrible and reeeally don't need to eat a box of girlscout cookies as it would likely wreak havoc on my physical and mental health). In their travels, one of the things they got for me was a cashmere scarf from Asia - it'll be much nicer than my black number from Target last year :) My favorite part is the fact that my mother-in-law can send me things from Victoria's Secret and it's not weird and creepy :) lol
