Twenty Four

Twenty-four years ago yesterday (the 13th) my incredible mother-in-law went through an excruciatingly painful labor. I'm so blessed that she did because that was the day my husband entered the scene. Thank you, Laura. *I think birthdays should be all about the moms really. . .*

Philip's dad was able to get a temporary passport which enabled him to keep his original travel plan of flying from Amsterdam to London before he returned to Denver. He was schedule to get in yesterday, so I made plans to have a couple of our closest friends over for a birthday dinner (Philip is more of a small group guy than a big group party and since it is his birthday it makes sense to go with that. . .). Paul's plane was delayed so we had a truly authentic Mexican meal - we started an hour and a half later than scheduled :) I made enchiladas and his favorite choc. dessert (as he is not a cake fan at all). We had Jim & Bea and Matt & Jana over. It was a wonderful evening.

Today the three of us are having a laid-back, much-needed recovery day. Relaxation is true love and bliss to me. . . It's a good study day too :)

sadly, the above picture of the two of us took 6 tries to get 1 where Philip could keep his eyes open. . .in addition to season 2 of The Office, Matt took time to clean out a drawer and find half of an old watch band, some immodium, a sticker from a shotgun, 2 dayquill gelcaps and two screws for Philip's gift as well . . . What a guy.

Two dozen years old...my, my, my. Next year it will be a quarter of a century! Joy, was that the chocolate dessert creation that you served when we were at your house? Yum.
Philip, hang on to those screws and the watch band. Never know when they might come in handy.

How come I'm the only one who leaves comments here these days??
