Sacrifice.

I spent last night at Matt & Jana's. Matt is a special tactics and special operations officer - he jumps in with his airmen to BAD stuff to do a lot of combat rescue. Sometimes his guys are the ones calling in air strikes from the ground. He just got back from an exercise. As he was talking about finding cover during a simulated fire fight I just thought "wow". I know that is a reality that he and his comrades have faced many times and will face again. The stuff these guys do blows my mind. I am so proud that my husband is a part of this band of brothers. Normal people doing extraordinary things. The sacrifices people make humble me.

Philip has been in Germany for a couple of weeks. He's spent a lot of his time moving HRs (human remains). I think it's been a pretty emotionally draining thing. He sent me this picture and said it's what he's been doing - moving flag draped caskets coming home from Afghanistan. *this picture is inside of a c5 of c17*
