so long, farewell

This is a picture from this past weekend.  I bid farewell to my my sweet friend Suzie.  She, her husband Jason and their sweet baby Evan are now on their way to Texas.  Suzie and I clicked the instant we met.  We are two peas in a pod when it comes love for the world of academia.   It was so special to be able to share my Cambridge experience with Suzie.  I so appreciated Suzie sharing my my anguish and then my celebration throughout the application, interview and admission process with GWU.  I know that we will be good friends w/ the Walkers for the rest of our lives.

Update on ticket fiasco:  I'm feeling a big more chilled.  I spoke to a million people on base about how to proceed.  Of course, no one could actually tell me.  I think we're going to hold off and hope that a hard copy of Philip's orders come through really soon so that they can just book my flight officially.  The last two nights I've been at the chapel for music practice (one for Sunday morning, one for a special thing next Thursday night).  I'm super dissapointed because our Thursday night group is going to be doing a really cool thing at Ramstein in Germany the weekend of 14 August.  I would looooove to get to sing with everyone one last time in GE (and I'd get to see some people I haven't seen forEVER who are stationed there right now).  I suppose if things go awry with all of this ticket business and I can't leave until mid/late August (though I'd feel horrible about missing the wedding and feel awful and be super sad about not as much family time), I can look on the bright side that I might have one last European hurrah before crossing the pond.  It'll work out.  I'm not worried.  It's win-win, right???

It WILL work out. You guys were so blessed to have great friends during your time in England. I know you really enjoyed your times with Suzie. God is good.
