Thinking about July 4ths gone past w/ my sweetie. . . excited to think about celebrating the 4th in DC. I was actually in DC for the 4th in 2000. Never could I have imagined then that I would celebrate the 26th 4th of July in my life as a resident of Virginia!

IV July
Here I am on my final 4th of July celebrating independence from England in England.
I would have liked to go to the fireworks and festivities at RAF Feltwell tonight, but I'm working from 3 - 10:30. Alas, no American revelry for Joy. I did, however, celebrate by buying a seedless watermelon @ the commissary. YUMMMMY! I'll easily have the whole thing gone before Friday. No joke.
I think putting off the departure, though massively dissapointing, has made it seem like saying goodbye is still a long way off. Though it's strange to think that if I would have left on the 18th that next Sunday would actually have been my last Sunday @ the chapel! I really need to get on the ball with outprocessing/packing/sorting type stuff. PRAYING that the paperwork for our car tax comes this week as our MOT certification is only good through the 14th of July (road and tv tax - two things I will NOT miss about England).

Haha....one red, sweet, juicy watermelon (with no seeds) plus one Joy = bliss. Add a few blueberries and you had your own red, white and blue celebration for the 4th. Miss you and love you, Your Mum
