Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Friday:  Philip and I enjoyed a nice day of "just us".  We went to National Harbor on a lunch date.  It was fabulous.  He took me to a Mexican restaurant his boss had introduced him to - definitely one of my new DC favs.

National Harbor

Rosa Mexicano = yummo.  Tableside guacamole = amahazing

I spotted Nando's and it made me miss England (I didn't even realize we had them in the U.S.)
Sat:  the taxi picked us up at 6:30 am and we headed to the airport, had a drama-free flight, arrived in Denver and made our way to Paul & Laura's.  It has become a wonderful tradition that my surrogate L sister Mindy join us on Christmas.  I was so glad she could be with us again this year.  It was good to reconnect yesterday afternoon.  We opened stockings last night and then some of Paul & Laura's neighbors joined us for a very delicious dinner (though I was so completely exhausted by the time we started dinner [ it felt like 9:30 pm to my body]  that I was pretty crashed for most of the evening)

Sun:  today we headed out to the mountain for our Christmas Day skiing/snowboarding adventure (it's a great time to be on the slopes because there aren't a bajillion ppl out).  The weather was beautiful.   We are now settling in by the fire to watch a movie together.

Christmas pictures to come soon. . .

And a Merry Christmas to you! Glad you had a chance to do something in your city besides driving to and from work and school. Loved the photos! Looks like you were "dreaming of a white Christmas" while on the east coast (just like us in the midwest). No complaints here, however. Love, Mom
