Legacy. Celebrating an ending & a beginning.

We learned early this morning that Philip's Grandma Lere passed away during the night. Her body has been through a lot this week, and the family has known that the last couple of days were infact the last days. Last week, Philip's dad made the decision to leave Thailans early and come back to be with his dad, mom and brothers in case this time was really the end. Grandma Winnie informed the doctors and the family a few days ago that she wished to be taken off of the oxygen she had been given to help her heart. Please pray for Philip's Grandpa and his dad (who will be making most of the funeral arrangements).

I will be back in MN next week, so we are trying to work out travel and funeral details amidst Philip's training schedule.
While this is an incredibly difficult time, I feel so grateful that we are able to celebrate the life of this incredibly woman and the fact that she is finally resting safe and comfortable in the Father's arms. I'm glad I get to spend eternity with this wonderful woman.

I'm grateful for the son, Paul, that she raised. This incredibly man of God has been a rare and true example for my own husband of how to be a godly husband and father. The impact of this father-son realtionship profoundly impacts my life on a daily basis, and it is possible because got used Winnie to bring Paul, and concequently Philip, into this world.
While I celebrate the end of one life, I also had the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of another. Today we had a baby shower for Solomon Bode. It was wonderful to be together with people from the chapel and our neighborhood.

Yes, we're praying....

Nice tribute to Winnie...

Cute baby pictures. I "luve" the "I Love Mummy" shirt. A great UK gift.

Love, Mom
